Water Buffalo
For every event we need a volunteer as our Water Buffalo. PARADES: this entails picking up the water cooler and bottles after the event prior to your scheduled volunteer date. Making ice (or buying it), and then filling the big utility cooler, along with the water bottles with ice and water for the event. It is not recommended that water bottles be frozen; the bottles have been cracking. If you purchase ice, recommended 2 large bags (20 lb each). The day of the event, fill each bottle about 2/3 full of ice and add fresh water. Put the remainder of the ice in the utility cooler and add water to fill. The cooler and water bottles would then get dropped off with the students back by the band loading dock to be loaded onto the truck. FOOTBALL SEASON: this involves only filling the large utility cooler with ice and water. Recommend 1 large bag (20 lb) and 1 small bag (7 lb) of ice. Band members use cups for water at football games.
